The blue and yellow design is printed on outdoor-tested polyester material. This fabric will not tear when exposed to different kinds of weather. We print the design on the flag using a state-of-the-art dye sublimation method. The flag is printed in a single-reverse layout, which allows the design to be visible from both sides. Choose to display your Oregon flags on different kinds of hardware by adding a flag pole option to your order. Choose from a handheld flagpole, a wall mounted flagpole, a pole mounted flagpole, or a large, in-ground flagpole. All the hardware is easy and quick to assemble. Oregon Flag History

Oregon was one of the last states to have an official state flag. It was created in 1925 when the postmaster of Portland requested having a flag to give to the U.S. Post Office Department. The Meier & Frank Department Store came up with the flag design. It was finished in time to first be presented in the display of state flags to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the Battle of Lexington. Recently, there was a contest to come up with a new, updated design for the state flag by The Oregonian, but the flag remained unchanged.

Oregon State Flag Meaning

The Oregon flag is unique compared to other state flags, because it is the only one to include a different image on both sides. The double-sided flag design isn’t as common as it once was because of increased printing costs, but it still officially has two sides. Both sides have blue and gold colors, but the front of the flag has the Oregon state seal and the words “State of Oregon” and “1859”, the year Oregon became a state. The other side of the flag includes the state animal, a beaver. Oregon is also known as The Beaver State, so it’s fitting to include the animal on the flag. The state flag of Oregon sometimes includes a golden fringe, often seen in parades.

Colors

Navy Blue and Gold: These colors are included on the Oregon state flag, because they are recognized as state colors.
