Montana State Flag Details
Display your state pride with a Montana flag for sale. Our flags are designed to last a long time because the material and print are durable. We use an outdoor flag polyester as the material because it’s lightweight and tear-resistant so that the wind, rain, snow, and heat will not rip the fabric. The state of Montana flag design is printed on one side of the material and bleeds through to the other side, which is the common layout for state flags. The graphics are recreated using a state-of-the-art dye sublimation printing process, which infuses the ink into the material. This prevents the print from scratching or peeling off, making it hold up in outdoor conditions. Setup your flag by adding a handheld or wall mounted pole set to your order. Grommets are finished on the side of the flag for assembling on a pole set. Our flags are made to last and are perfect for wherever you want to install them.

Montana Flag History
The Montana state flag was designed to include the state’s seal (created in 1865) and the original version included gold fringe on the top and bottom. It was first used by the Montana Volunteers during the Spanish-American War in 1898 and became associated as the state of Montana flag, but it wasn’t officially adopted until 1905. The one used by the military had the words “First Montana Infantry, U.S.V.” embroidered at the top. The words above the seal were removed when it became the state flag, so it just included the seal. The word “Montana” was later added to the flag in 1981 with the font specified in 1985. At first, it was difficult to get the perfect colors used in the seal and no shade of blue was specified for the background. The dark blue color used in the original military flag is now used in reproductions.
Montana Flag Meaning
State Seal: The Montana landscape is depicted inside the seal with mountains, plains, forests, and the Great Falls of the Missouri River. The state’s industry is represented by the plow, pick, and shovel. The seal also includes the Spanish motto “Oro y Plata”, which translates to “Gold and Silver”.
