Artwork Requirements:

Acceptable file types: PDF (preferred), AI, EPS, PSD, TIF, JPG, PNG, INDD
Note: Your template file must have all images embedded, layers & transparencies flattened, template lines removed, and saved as 1 page at the highest or maximum quality.
When Creating Your Artwork:
- CMYK color mode
- Use Pantone® Color Bridge® colors whenever possible
- Design at a 1:10 ratio (products smaller than 16” x 16” will be designed at a 1:1 ratio)
- Keep important elements within the gray image safety line
- Minimum resolution of 360 dpi on polyester fabrics
- Minimum resolution of 800 dpi on vinyl & rigid materials
- Vector art preferred
- Convert all fonts to outlines
- Embed all images and links
- Design to bleed line
- Double-check your grammar and spelling

Design Happy New Year Banners Online
We offer three different ways to create new year banners to suit different design preferences and levels of expertise:
Design Online: Online tools are easy to use whether you have graphic design experience or not. In our online suite, you can customize your banner template by adding company logos, family photos, celebration themed clipart, and text boxes.
Upload Artwork Template: Some people want to craft their banner template in a software program. To do this, download the banner template link onto your computer and upload it in your design program. Send the template back to us for printing.
Free Design Services: If you need help with the whole design process or just cannot think of what to include on your new year banner, let us know. Our graphic designers will use your ideas or specifications to create a banner free of charge. You will be sent an artwork proof before we print the Happy New Year sign.
Vinyl Options
Indoor
Happy New Year banners are seen in both indoor and outdoor settings. How do you know which material suits the banner’s location? Think about whether you want to place the banner inside or outside and choose your vinyl from there. For indoor use, such as in an event venue or a store, there are two vinyl options. There is the Indoor Vinyl and the Indoor Opaque Vinyl. Both materials are UV-protected and weather-resistant for durability, but the Indoor Vinyl has a matte finish and the Indoor Opaque Vinyl has a glossy satin finish. The glossy finish is harder to photograph than the matte finish but has a smoother look.
Outdoor
If, instead, you want to set up the Happy New Year banners outdoors, there are three materials to select from. Something to consider is the kind of weather the Happy New Year backdrop will have to endure. If you are in a location that has a lot of wind, we recommend using the Mesh Vinyl. This material is perforated, which makes it able to withstand windy conditions. The other two outdoor materials are 18oz and 23oz Opaque Vinyl. These materials are great for outdoor use due to their weather-resistance and UV protection, but the 23oz version is more reliable in harsh, constantly changing weather. We suggest using the 18oz option for milder outdoor settings.
Finishing Options
Another important factor to consider when buying a Happy New Year banner is how will the banner be set up? Do you want to mount it to a wall, hang it from a ceiling, or use a banner stand? Our different finishing options suit different setup methods:
Grommets: This is great if you want to use bungee cords to hang the banner from the ceiling or across a wall. Choose between adding grommets to the four banner corners or on every 1.5ft of material, which is helpful if the Happy New Year sign is long.
Ultra-Strong Adhesive Tabs: Adhesive tabs work the same way as grommets in that they are compatible with bungee cords. These tabs, however, are less noticeable than grommets. You can also get tabs in the four banner corners or around the perimeter.
Pole Pockets: If you are using a banner stand that includes pole sections, select pole pockets as your finishing. Poles easily slide through the pockets for simple setups. Get pole pockets on either the top or the top and the bottom of the new year banner.
Hemmed Sides: Having the sides hemmed makes them resistant to ripping and tearing for long-term use. Pair hemmed sides with other finishing options, such as grommets, or get them alone if you are not using banner hardware.
Cut Sides: For a simple option, you can have the sides cut. These sides are not as durable as the hemmed version, but they are easier to place the banner in a frame or on a canvas. Cut sides are also great for mounting the Happy New Year banner to the wall with nails or tacks.
