Senegal Flags Details
Showcase your pride for your home country by setting up a Senegalese flag outside of your home or business. These 3x5 flags are made for extended indoor and outdoor display due to their durable material and print. The flag is made from outdoor-tested polyester fabric, which is knitted and tear-resistant to hold up against all kinds of weather. We print the flag using a dye sublimation technique, which infuses the ink into the fabric to prevent the design from scratching and peeling off. The flag design is printed on one side of the material and bleeds through to the other side, which saves on printing costs. Grommets are finished on the side for easily assembling the flag on a pole set. Choose between getting the flag by itself or adding on a handheld pole or mounted pole set to your order. Let all passersby see the flag of your home country with these Senegal flags for sale.

Flag of Senegal History
Senegal used to be under French rule. When Senegal became a republic with the French Sudan, a new Senegal flag was adopted. The original flag had the tricolor design of the modern flag, but with a stick figure person called as kanaga in the middle. After the federation between Senegal and French Sudan ended the next year, it became an independent country and decided to adopt a new flag. The kanaga in the middle of the flag was then replaced with the star, but the same Pan-African colors were kept. The green, yellow, and red flag with green star design has been in use since 1960 when the country gained its independence.
Senegal Flag Meaning and Colors
Green: The first stripe on the flag stands for hope and a good future. The green used in this stripe and the star is the color of the Prophet associated with Islam, which is the most popular religion of the country. It has a similar meaning for the Christian and Animist populations.
Yellow: The middle yellow stripe represents the wealth of the country from work, as well as intellect from arts and literature. This is because yellow shirts are commonly worn by literature teachers in Senegal.
Red: The final red stripe stands for the sacrifice and blood shed from the country in gaining its independence. It also stands for the determination of the country. The three colors also represent the three political parties of Senegal.
Star: The green color of the star recalls the color of the Prophet like the green stripe. The star itself is a symbol of freedom and the five-pointed star is also a reference to one used in a flag during the Mali Federation.
