Wisconsin State Flag Details
Show how much you love your home state with a well-crafted Wisconsin flag for sale. Our flags are designed to be setup indoors and outdoors due to the strong material and print. The WI state flag is made from outdoor-tested flag polyester, which is tear-resistant and lightweight so different weather conditions will not ruin the flag. We also use a state-of-the-art dye sublimation printing process, which ingrains the ink into the polyester fabric. This not only results in striking colors but prevents the print from scratching and peeling off the material. The state flag of Wisconsin design is printed on one side of the flag and the mirror image bleeds through to the opposite side. Add installation hardware to your order by choosing either a wall mounted pole set or a handheld flagpole. The grommets on the side of the flag easily assemble the flag on the pole kits. These flags are the perfect addition to parades, home fronts, government buildings, and more.

Wisconsin Flag History
The Wisconsin state flag started out as a battle flag during the Civil War. Regiments requested a flag in 1863 and a committee was formed to create the WI flag design. The artwork chosen was like other battle flags used during the war. The battle flag was made the official state flag in 1913 with clear specifications. The original state flag for Wisconsin was just a coat of arms, but there were often misprints that included the state seal rather than the coat of arms. To distinguish the flag from other similarly designed state flags, “Wisconsin” and “1848” were added to the design in 1979. The redesign became the required format in 1981.
Wisconsin Flag Meaning
Coat of Arms: The two men stand for the different kinds of workers of Wisconsin in 1863, a sailor and miner. Tools are also included with farming indicated with the plow, mining with the pick and shovel, manufacturing with the arm and hammer, and navigation with the anchor. A badger is above the shield because it’s the state animal. Lead miners of the state were also known as badgers. The state motto “Forward” is above the badger. There is also a horn of plenty located on the shield, which stands for prosperity. The lead pyramid beside it stands for the minerals of Wisconsin, as well as the 13 original colonies of the U.S. The United States coat of arms is in the middle of the seal, symbolizing loyalty to the country.
1848: This represents the year when Wisconsin was added to the Union.
